We were out and thought about getting something local at 501 Central Avenue in Jersey City Heights late one night. We came across LomoTruck, a very small Peruvian restaurant that seems to be takeout only. They have 3 locations and actually started as a food truck. Its kitchen is viewable from the front, with the mouth-watering aroma of food filling the air.
I looked on the menu, which had a pretty good selection of food. I decided on chicken, rice, and salad. The dish was absolutely delicious, with the chicken tasting with a selection of spices. The next selection was Salchi Chaufa Con Todo, which is Chicken Chaufa with Salchipapa Con Todo. It was highly recommended and did not disappoint, well-seasoned, and both dishes were accompanied by their own sausages. We couldn't help but smile with every bite.
Even though this restaurant is very small and the food is takeout, they are doing a great job. The person at the counter was very friendly and eager to help make selections.
Will I go back? Absolutely yes. I want to try some other dishes. Prices are very reasonable, and I'll give them an 8 out of 10. Stop by, take your time, and look over the menu. I highly recommend giving it a try!
